Network members are self-nominated, active legislators from countries where the parliament has true legitimacy. WLID members agree to the following values. As a member of the WLID Network, I believe in and actively support multi-party democracy, elections that represent the will of the people, political and civil rights, accountable governance, pluralism, and inclusion. I commit to increasing women’s meaningful participation in defence, security, and peace portfolios, committees, and/or debates. I agree to provide peer support to other members of the WLID Network by sharing my experience and knowledge. I commit to attending network meetings and participating in the ongoing activities of the WLID Network. As a network member, you will meet like-minded women legislators (virtually and in-person), benefit from training and workshops on defence, security, and peace, and participate in regional and global activities and events that advance the Women, Peace, and Security agenda.
